Chain Link Fence in Chalmette
Fencing Chalmette — Chain Link Fence services in Chalmette
Chain link holds a property line and keeps it open at the same time. We set it for yards, side lots, and stretches where you want a boundary without blocking the view.
What chain link fence involves
- Setting corner and end posts: These take the most pull from the stretched mesh, so they go in deeper and get braced before anything else happens.
- Running line posts: We space these out along the fence line and set each one so the top rail sits level.
- Stretching the mesh: The chain link gets pulled tight with a come-along before it's tied off, so it doesn't sag a season later.
- Hanging gates and hardware: Gate posts get set separately from the line posts since they carry swing weight, then the latch and hinges go on last.
When you need it
- The mesh sags between posts instead of sitting tight.
- A post leans or wobbles when you push on it.
- Rust is eating through the wire or the top rail.
- A gate drags on the ground or won't latch anymore.
What changes the job
A straight run on flat, clear ground goes fast. Corners, slopes, and gates add time because each one needs its own post work. In Chalmette we often find old footings or soft, waterlogged soil once we start digging, which changes how deep a post has to go before it holds.
